ConsenSys Rollups
Layer 2 Solution for Transaction Scalability and Privacy
Layer 2 Solution for Transaction Scalability and Privacy
Achieve higher throughput, save on fees, and improve transaction privacy by settling bulk
transactions off-chain. Retain Layer 1 security by rolling these transactions into one, and anchoring
them to the blockchain with Zero-Knowledge proofs and cryptographic implementations.
Product Features
Public and Private Offering
Customers may choose between a mainnet or private network deployment of ConsenSys Rollups. Mainnet deployments utilize zero-knowledge proof rollups, while private network deployments can utilize either zero-knowledge proof or proof-of-authority consensus rollups.
Zero-Knowledge or Proof-of-Authority Rollups
Use Cases
Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs)
The creation and deployment of CBDCs will require the utmost throughput and confidentiality in digital currency transactions. Rollups could deliver this for all transactions and blockchain-based operations between central banks, commercial banks and retail users.
Decentralized Exchanges (DEXs)
Mainnet congestion causes high transaction fees. Rollups could reduce pressure on network congestion, speed up transaction execution and consequently reduce transaction fees.
Traditional Payments and Finance
Legacy payment service providers (e.g. Mastercard, VISA, Paypal) recognize the opportunity to build the next generation of payment systems on Ethereum. Rollups could enable more traditional payment rails to adopt blockchain technology, either on Mainnet or private networks.
Micropayments
Micropayment applications wherein users pay, for example, on a per-stream or per-view basis will require high throughput to properly function as large numbers of users interact with platforms and dapps. Rollups on mainnet will allow Ethereum to scale to meet the demand of new Web3 economic paradigms without network congestion, high fees, or finality challenges.
Private Transfers and Taxes
With partially anonymous ZK rollups, users can transfer or swap tokens and transact with partial anonymity. Rollups will enable use-cases that require auditability and transparency while also maintaining transaction privacy. This could remove the next barrier to entry for more DeFi or cryptocurrency users on new services.
